HUD Raises Civil Penalty for Failure to Disclose Lead-Based Paint Hazards
HUD has raised the maximum penalty for failure to disclose lead-based paint hazards from $11,000 to $16,000. This is the first increase since 1996. A final rule increasing the penalty goes into effect on July 22, 2011.
