Quick Access is a panel you can open from any page with the round button in the bottom corner or the ` key. It gathers your favorite tools, recent bookmarks, recent households (subscribers) and the latest news, with a search box across all of them, actions for the page you are on, and a quick income limit and rent lookup.

Step by step

  1. Open and close the panel
Click the round button in the bottom corner of any page, or press the ` key (left of 1). Press it again, press Escape, click the X, or click outside the panel to close it.
  2. Search from the panel
Type in the search box at the top. Tools and bookmarks match as you type and documents follow; subscribers can also find a household by name, property or unit. Arrow keys and Enter open a result, Escape clears the search, and See all results opens the full search page.
  3. Act on the page you are on
This page lists actions for the current page: bookmark the document section you are scrolled to, save a calculator result with Save result to a household (subscribers), or add the tool you are using to your favorites.
  4. Use the Overview
Overview shows Favorite Tools, your five most recent bookmarks, Recent Households (subscribers, with property, unit and number of saved results) and Recent News. Click any item to go straight there.
  5. Look up income limits and rents
Open Lookups, search for a county or city, and pick a household size to see the area median income, income limits from 30% to 80%, and maximum rents for 0 to 5 bedrooms. A note links to the Income Limits tool when HERA Special or national non-metro limits apply, and Clear empties the lookup.
  6. Remove bookmarks and favorites
Point at a bookmark or favorite tool and click its X to remove it from every list in the panel. Click Undo in the bar at the bottom to put it back.
  7. Browse the other tabs
Tools lists every tool by category with your favorites first, Bookmarks shows up to 50 of your most recent, and News shows the latest articles.
  8. Watch for new news
A dot on the button means an article was posted since you last opened Quick Access; opening the panel clears it. Visitors who are not signed in see a prompt to sign in or create a free account.

What you get

Overview, Tools, Bookmarks, News and Lookups tabs; a search across households, tools, bookmarks and documents; This page actions for bookmarking, saving and favoriting; and income limits and maximum rents for any area, using the same data as the Income Limits tool.
